The PB&J Run presented by Publix is a deliciously-themed run in St. Pete, FL that includes a 5K, 10K, and 15K Challenge event. The PB&J Run features certified closed courses, chip-timing, coveted tech shirts and custom finisher medals, cash prizes, an interactive PB&J Post-Race JAMboree with dozens of vendors and music, and (of course) unlimited PB&Js for all participants. The event is tailored to engage competitive runners and beginners alike.
Whether you’re on “team crunchy” or “team smooth”, everyone knows PB&J is a classic. Inspired by the beloved lunchbox staple, we’re so excited to make PB&J lovers’ dreams come true by celebrating the nostalgia, comfort, and super-efficient athlete fuel that is Peanut Butter & Jelly through this signature event.
We are offering a virtual run this year for anyone that loves the PB&J Run, but can’t make it to St. Pete this September. Register for the Virtual Run and we will ship your medal, t-shirt, and goodies right to you! Packets will begin shipping the week of the run.
Yes! We are proud to say that 100% (every dollar!) of the PB&J Run goes to support the children and family services of local 501 (c)(3) non-profit Directions for Living. Fundraising for this important cause is the sole purpose of this event, and thanks to all of you we are able to raise an average of $70,000 annually to help individuals who are living with a mental illness, who are homeless or housing unstable, and those experiencing other traumas.
Definitely! The PB&J Run presented by Publix is for everyone, whether you’re walking, jogging, or racing to be the first to cross the finish line.
Technically there is not an age limit, but we recommend this event for ages 12+. We encourage parents to use their best judgement based on the difficulty and length of the course when registering children.
We want the PB&J Run presented by Publix to be accessible to everyone! We hope even those with nut allergies can enjoy our run, but please note that there will be unlimited PB&J sandwiches and PB&J-themed vendors at the Post Party at Albert Whitted Park who, as you might imagine, will be working with and serving nut butters. If you need special accommodations for your allergy or have further questions about your safety, please email us here.
The PB&J JAMboree is our finish festival for our runners to enjoy unlimited PB&J sandwiches, music, dozens of local vendors, and more!

We will be running rain or shine! If unsafe weather persists, we may delay the start of the race up to one hour if possible. In the event that a delay is not possible, the event may be canceled. The safety of our runners is our number one concern. If race officials deem it is unsafe for participants to be on the course, they reserve the right to cancel the event. If this happens, we will notify all registered participants of a plan to retrieve their race packet.
You can run or walk with strollers or pets, but please start towards the back of the line so that the majority of competitive runners can get through first.
Both courses will have closed roads, will be clearly marked with directional and mile marker signs, and will be stationed with volunteers, law enforcement, and water stations for the safety and support of our runners. You can switch your registration to the virtual run if you let us know before Sept 5th. When we are two weeks out from race day, we have financially and logistically planned for you to be in the park so it’s difficult for our team to accommodate these last minute requests.
